My PDA Work
Over the last 15 years I have developed a clinical specialism in Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) which is now accepted to be a sub-type or subvariant of the Autism Spectrum.
My clinical assessment work has involved conducting face to face diagnostic assessments of children from 3 to about 14 years of age, in the youngster’s home or at my clinic in York.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have been engaged in research with parents of youngsters with PDA in order to develop and refine our understanding and insights about PDA. You can download a copy of my research presentation at Bath University here, which will tell you more about the Ex-PDA research project I completed in 2015.
I have also contributed to the debates and discussions around the nature of PDA. You can view a copy of my published letter in The Psychologist here.
My clinical work in PDA was recognised by Worcestershire Innovation in 2018.
