Dr Dyer is able to offer a range of services to parents and the legal profession including an expert witness service and the provision of medico-legal reports.
Dr Dyer provides independent educational psychology assessments of children and young people from 2-19 years for statutory assessment of SEN for Statements. Assessments cover diagnoses and needs for Part 2 of the Statement. Reports also contain required objectives and provision for Part 3 of the Statement.
Dr Dyer also conducts assessments of the suitability of placements for Part 4 of a Statement, including visits to schools and professional discussions with staff.
The hallmarks of Dr Dyer’s reports are their detail, -often forensic in nature, their completeness and accuracy of description, and their pertinence.
Dr Dyer has experience of appearing as an Independent Educational Psychologist in SEND Tribunals, and is known for her thorough preparation and forensic attention to detail, together with a robust approach to giving and defending evidence.
Dr Dyer takes instruction to act as an Independent Educational Psychologist directly from parents, or via Solicitors. Dr Dyer regrets that she is unable to take on cases funded through the Legal Help Scheme unless these are fully funded to costs actually incurred.
Dr Dyer has availability to work as a Consultant Educational/Child Psychologist to schools and colleges within the Independent Sector, including Independent Specialist Schools. Dr Dyer has Enhanced CRB clearance to work on an unsupervised basis with vulnerable children and youngsters in home and school settings. Last check completed January 2010. Dr Dyer has recent experience of working as a Consultant Educational Psychologist to two Independent sector schools.
Dr Dyer offers a Forensic Document Analysis service to parents and solicitors which can often reveal evidence of reasons for a child’s failure to make adequate progress, or can reveal shortcomings and failings in the delivery of provision.
Dr Dyer also conducts forensic examination and analysis of documentation in cases of educational negligence. Dr Dyer draws on her high level, and specialist knowledge, together with over 25 years experience of the compulsory and post-compulsory education sectors to indicate what provision, systems etc should have been in place and delivered. She makes assessments of what should have been delivered against what was delivered, highlighting gaps in the provision delivered and proffering an expert opinion on the implications and ramifications of these.
Dr Dyer is available to speak at conferences and professional society meetings across the English-speaking world. As a former University Senior Lecturer, Dr Dyer is a lively, confident and engaging presenter and speaker.
If potential clients have a Private Health Insurance policy, with, for example BUPA, PPP, AXA, or Norwich Union they can seek authorisation from their insurer for Dr Dyer to act as a Provider. Authorization must be agreed in writing before assessments can be undertaken under these policies.
