How Assessment Services are Provided
Phase 1 - Initial discussion to clarify client or instructing solicitor’s requirements. Clarification of outcomes soughtEstimate of costs provided – valid for 7 days
Phase 2 - Confirmation of acceptance of instruction and letter of engagement and terms and conditions for the work set out, including payment schedule
Phase 3 - After initial contact or instruction clients will be required to complete various pre-assessment questionnaires which Dr Dyer uses to inform her assessment strategy and tools.Work scheduled according to client needs and Dr Dyer’s availabilityAppointments for assessment can usually be made within 2-3 weeks of receiving confirmation of instructionPayments for work may be required onto account beforehandThe business operates a system of payment of invoices by electronic means only. Payments by cheque are not accepted.
Phase 4 - Receipt of pre-assessment questionnaire information and all other relevant documentation (e.g. Reports, Statements) for perusal and review by Dr Dyer
Phase 5 - Assessment of the child. These are always conducted in the child’s home and/or school. Dr Dyer does not see clients’ children at her home, as she prefers to see them in their natural home environment and also in their current school where applicable
Phase 6 - Scoring of test results and interpretation of these. Initial feedback to parents is possible at this stage
Phase 7 - Report writing. Drafts are usually available within 10 working days. Final reports are not released until all payments have been made and have cleared onto account
Phase 8 - Consultation and discussion with clients and their solicitors regarding the report content and the parents’/solicitor’s needs. Commenting on the reports and assessments of other Independent Professionals to ensure consistency and continuity of report recommendations
Phase 9 - Working with Clients, and their Legal Team to prepare for any Tribunal Hearing. Appearance at Hearing as an Expert Witness to give evidence orally about the child’s SEN and the suitability of provision, placement, etc.
Phase 10 - Client and Solicitor Feedback You will be asked for your feedback about the quality and value of the services provided by Dr Dyer. Your feedback may be verbal or in writing, and may be used to provide helpful information to potential future clients via this website.
